HODGES, Associate Justice.

This suit was instituted by the appellee against the appellant under the provisions of Art. 3106 of the Revised Civil Statutes, to recover double the amount of interest paid on certain loans of money made at a usurious rate. The testimony shows that interest in different sums was paid on different dates during the two years next preceding the institution of the suit; that the rate of interest charged and received was eighteen per cent, per annum.
