BOURCIER, Justice.
Elton Simpson (Simpson) appeals from the Superior Court’s denial of his application for postconviction relief filed pursuant to G.L.1956 chapter 9.1 of title 10. He had been convicted of first-degree sexual assault, burglary, assault with a dangerous weapon, and breaking and entering.
