I. PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND.

Plaintiff Quick Air Freight, Inc. (“Quick Air”) commenced this action on September 24, 1982, pursuant to section 301(a) of the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, 29 U.S.C. § 185(a), against defendant Teamsters Local Union No. 413 (“Local 413”) for an alleged breach of a collective bargaining agreement between Quick Air and Local 413 covering plaintiff’s mechanics.
