Plaintiff sued to recover the balance claimed to be due for secretarial and stenographic services rendered to defendant, a member of the bar of this state, under an express contract of hire. The complaint alleged that, for a period of five years prior to August 17th, 1931, the defendant “had been paying attentions to the plaintiff and had promised to marry her;” that, on the stated day, they entered into a contract whereby plaintiff agreed to render such services, and defendant, “in consideration thereof,” promised to “pay her the sum of $5…
