This matter comes before the court upon the defendants’ objections to a Report and Recommendation issued by the Honorable B. Waugh Crigler, Magistrate Judge, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, on December 6, 1995. 2 In this civil action, the plaintiff alleges that she was discharged from her position as a deputy sheriff with the defendant Sheriffs Department on the basis of gender, in violation of Title VII of the so-called Civil Rights Act of 1991, 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000e et seq.
