We granted certiorari to review the decision of the Court of Appeals reversing Williamson’s conviction of simple battery. See Williamson v. State, 156 Ga. App. 856 (276 SE2d 60) (1980).
After the jury had been selected and sworn and the witnesses sequestered, but prior to the presentation of opening statements, the trial court instructed the jury as to the procedures that would be followed during the trial.
