The four defendants in error, hereinafter called plaintiffs, are the mother, sister and brothers of the deceased wife of Wilhelm Krause, the plaintiff in error, hereinafter called the defendant. They brought this action of assumpsit alleging his oral promise to pay them $2,000 if they would not interfere in his settlement of her estate. They had a judgment on a verdict of $2,000, from which he prosecutes this writ of error.
