Bessie Lee (“Mrs. Brown”) and Willie Brown (“Mr. Brown”), Plaintiffs-Appellees, sued Spartan Department Stores and Atlantic Thrift Centers (“Spartan-Atlantic”), and various corporate management entities which owned or managed Spartan-Atlantic, in a personal injury action seeking to recover damages for injuries Mrs. Brown allegedly sustained as a result of a fall at a Spartan-Atlantic store in Dallas, Texas.
