OPINION
BEVILACQUA, Chief Justice.
This matter is before us on a petition for certiorari to review a Superior Court judgment affirming a decision of the respondent Zoning Board of Review of the Town of Barrington (the board). The board had denied the petitioner’s application for an exception or variance from the restrictions of a Barrington zoning ordinance. On appeal to the Superior Court the trial justice found that the board had properly denied the application as one for a variance.
