Relator prays for a writ of mandamus directing the defendants to execute a deed to certain lands which it alleges were conveyed to it by the state by Act No. 80, p. 125, of 1906. Defendants answer that the lands in question did not belong to the state at the date of the passage of Act No. 80 of 1906, having been previously conveyed by the state to the Red River, Atchafalaya and Bayou Boeuf Levee District, and by the Board of Commissioners of that district sold to John V. Moffet and Allen R. Dillon by acts of sale, duly recorded, and that they have no duty to…
