Dirk Roberts appeals his conviction of one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver or manufacture. Police found a marijuana grow operation in the basement of the home Roberts rented. Roberts claimed at trial that the grow operation belonged to a subtenant, John Sylvester. Roberts argues that the trial court denied him the right to present this defense by excluding testimony from three witnesses, and by sustaining a hearsay objection to part of Roberts’s testimony related to this defense.
