Blackwell v. Sara Lee Knit Products

North Carolina Industrial Commission

Decided July 17, 1996No. I.C. No. 378913Published

1Concurrence

The evidence points to a non-work related cause of plaintiff's carpal tunnel syndrome. Once her wrists were swollen, movement at work caused further symptoms. It has not been "shown factually that but for workplace aggravation . . . there would not have been the same incapacity for work." Wilkins v. J. P. Stevens Co., 333 N.C. 449, 454, 426 S.E.2d 675 (1993). Consequently, I CONCUR.
