The questions presented on this appeal arise upon the accounting of the executors of the last will and testament of William Wall, deceased. By his will the testator, among other things, directed, after making provision for the payment of certain legacies therein named, that the executors should divide the residue of his estate into eight equal parts or shares, and invest the same separately on bond and mortgage, or in United States Government or State securities, and apply the income for the benefit of his children as therein directed.
