This is a direct appeal taken from a decree of the circuit court of Edwards county in an election contest. On April 18, 1939, in the regular city election in the city of Albion, Edwards county, there was submitted, as authorized by the Illinois Liquor Control act, the following proposition : “Shall the sale' at retail of alcoholic liquors be prohibited in the city of Albion, Edwards county, Illinois?” The returns of this election as canvassed showed 480 votes cast for the proposition and 481 votes against it.
