Defendant was charged with two counts of burglary in violation of Penal Code 459. The trial court appointed counsel to represent defendant and defendant pleaded not guilty. Thereafter, court-appointed counsel was relieved, upon defendant’s motion, and defendant was substituted in propria persona. The court, however, requested that counsel remain available to defendant during the trial if defendant desired to seek counsel’s advice. A jury found defendant guilty as charged.
