The patent-in-suit, United States Letters Patent No. 3,265,553 (the “ ’553 patent”) covers an invention by two German citizens, Oscar Kind and Wilhelm Voight. It is entitled “Apparatus for Printing, Dispensing & Application of Gummed Labels.” On March 17, 1965, a German corporation, Meto-Gesellschaft Oscar Kind KG (“Meto”) filed the application for the ’553 patent.
