Before DORSEY, GILBERTO HINOJOSA and YÁÑEZ, JJ. GILBERTO HINOJOSA Justice.

By the present mandamus proceeding, re-lators seek to overturn the trial court’s judgment declaring a vacancy in the office of the Hidalgo County Sheriff and ordering candidates to be placed on the November general election ballot in order to fill the remaining term of that office. We conditionally grant the writ of mandamus.
