Dear Dr. Reagen:

This opinion letter is in response to the following questions:(1) The Older Americans Act of 1965, 42 U.S.C. § 3001, et seq., authorized the creation of Area Agencies on Aging (AAA's) by the designated State Agency (in Missouri the Department of Social Services, Division of Aging (DOSS/DOA)) and vested the State Agency with certain powers and authority under the Act.
