BERMAN, Judge.
Following trial to a jury, defendant, George Marin, was convicted of the first degree murder of Charles Wood and sentenced to life imprisonment. The sole issue raised in defendant’s motion for a new trial was the sufficiency of the evidence supporting his conviction. Nevertheless, defendant now appeals based upon a trial court ruling prohibiting him from eliciting certain character evidence on cross-examination of a prosecution witness and upon a host of allegedly improper and unprofessional statements by the prosecutrix in her closing and rebuttal arguments.
