CHOATE, District Judge.

In this case, which is a suit at law to recover duties on goods imported by the defendants, they move for a mandamus against the collector of the port to obtain the inspection of certain custom-house papers, or, if that motion is not granted, for a stay of the plaintiff’s proceedings. The complaint alleges the importation and entry of the goods, the liquidation of the duties and their non-payment.
