MEMORANDUM OPINION
JOINER, District Judge.
Petitioner Daniel Williams, a prisoner at the Riverside Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan, has filed an application for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. On June 29, 1977, following a jury trial in Recorder’s Court of the City of Detroit, he was convicted of assault with intent to commit murder and was thereafter sentenced to a term of twenty-five years to sixty years imprisonment.
