This matter was initiated on December 11, 2000, by a petition for a writ of habeas corpus under Title 28, United States Code, Section 2254 filed by Mir Aimal Kasi (“petitioner”). On November 10, 1997, the petitioner was convicted of capital murder, first degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding, and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
