Leon Baker appeals from a judgment entered pursuant to a jury verdict for J.R. Bennett and his wife Laura Jean Bennett.
The Bennetts sued Baker, a tax attorney from New York; S. David Johnston, their personal accountant; and Johnston's accounting firm, alleging conspiracy to defraud, negligence, and malpractice. The Bennetts claimed that the defendants had fraudulently induced them to invest in an improper tax shelter and that the fraud resulted in their payment…
