This lawsuit arises from the four plaintiffs’ investments in variable annuities purchased from 2003 to 2007. The plaintiffs alleged in their state-court petition that they made the investments at the direction of David Mierendorf, a financial advisor and retirement-planning investment professional registered with Woodbury Financial Services, Inc.
