This action was brought by Orville Tignor (hereinafter referred to as plaintiff) to recover damages for personal injuries resulting from a collision between a motorcycle he was riding and a passenger bus of the Virginia Electric and Power Company, alleged to have been caused by the negligent operation of the bus. A verdict in favor of the plaintiff for the sum of $10,000 was set aside by the trial court on the ground that the plaintiff w;as guilty of contributory negligence as a matter of law, and final judgment entered for the defendant company.
