PARRISH, Chief Judge.

Joseph W. Proby (defendant) was convicted, following a jury trial, of burglary in the *815second degree, § 569.170,1 and stealing property of a value of at least $150, § 570.030.-3(1). He was charged and sentenced as a prior and persistent offender. § 558.016, RSMo Supp.1990. Following his sentencing and incarceration, defendant filed a pro se Rule 29.15 motion. Counsel was appointed and an amended motion filed. After an evi-dentiary hearing, the motion court filed written findings of fact and conclusions of law and denied the motion.
