Defendant was charged by information with the offense of pandering. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 11—16(a) (2).) He was convicted by a jury and, following a presentence investigation and a sentencing hearing, was sentenced to prison for not less than one year nor more than three years, the maximum sentence for the offense.
