Appellant, Craig Rudy Reynolds, was charged with and convicted of failure to *379comply with sex-offender registration requirements. The charges originated from a 1990 conviction for sexual assault of a child, for which he was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. Appellant served his entire sentence and was released in August of 1995. The registration statute in effect at the time did not require Appellant to register as a sex offender.
