A. H. Bull Steamship Co. brought suit below against the defendant unions seeking injunctive relief and damages for alleged breaches of collective bargaining agreements between plaintiff and each defendant. Bull alleged that the court had jurisdiction of the action as a case arising under § 301 of the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947, 29 U.S.C. § 185, and by reason of the diversity of citizenship of the parties.
