Clark contracted to build for Aenchbacher a residence on his lot for $36,700 according to plans and specifications. Clark was an experienced builder, having constructed some six to eight hundred dwellings. Construction was completed on February 26, 1975, and Aenchbacher moved in the first part of March. When he attempted to start a fire in the fireplace, he found the starter was defective and not working properly.
