A history of the title to certain promises in Hall street, Brooklyn,' and of the execution of three mortgages is requisite to the consideration of the rights of the respective parties to these actions. Mrs. Squire claims to be the owner of a first mortgage on the premises for $1,800, dated January 9, 1884. Mrs. Gearon claims to be the owner of a second mortgage thereon of $1,200, dated April 24, 1889, while the defendants, Greene and Dunkin, claim to be the owners of a mortgage' of $3,000, nated September 15, 1891, and which they contend, though subsequent in date to the two…
