E. GORDON WEST, District Judge:

Rodric Gilstrap institutes this action to recover overtime compensation allegedly due him under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. § 201 et seq. Jurisdiction of this matter is conferred upon the Court by the provisions of 28 U.S.C. § 1337.

Plaintiff claims that during his employment with Synalloy Corporation, he worked numerous hours in excess of the forty hour work week prescribed in 29 U.S.C. § 207(a). He seeks compensation for these hours at the rate of one and a half times his basic wage rate, an equal amount in liquidated damages, and…
