—In an action to recover damages for defamation, the defendants David J. Lansner and Lansner and Kubitschek appeal from an order of the Supreme Court, Queens County (Golar, J.), dated April 24, 1997, which denied their motion pursuant to CPLR 3211 (a) (7) to dismiss the complaint insofar as asserted against them.

Ordered that the order is reversed, on the law, with costs, the motion is granted, the complaint is dismissed insofar as asserted against the appellants, and the action against the remaining defendant is severed.
