Defendant Jaturun Siripongs was convicted of murdering Packovan “Pat” Wattanapom and Quach Nguyen (Pen. Code, § 187), robbery (id., § 211), and burglary (id., § 459). (All further statutory references are to the Penal Code unless otherwise indicated.) The jury found he used a knife (§ 12022, subd. (b)) during the commission of Quach’s murder, as well as the robbery and burglary, but did not find that he used a knife when he murdered Pat.
