On January 27, 1905, the defendants, Isaac Y. LaTourette and his wife, executed and delivered to John L. Moran what is commonly known and designated as an oil and gas lease upon a certain portion of the northwest quarter of section nine (9), in township twenty-one (21) north of range eight (8) east I.
