There were two suits, numbered 163 and 172, respectively, consolidated for trial, entitled W. H. Lanning against The Empire Ranch and Cattle Company, in the district court of Washington county, to quiet title, on complaints in the usual form. In cause No. 163 the land involved was the southeast quarter of section 1, township 5 south, range 49, formerly in old Arapahoe county, but at the beginning of the suit in Washington county.
