OPINION

CRESON, Justice.

The controversy in the instant case concerns the extent of appellant’s obligation *134for child support payments under a final decree of divorce entered on January 7, 1971, in the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Division II.

In the course of this opinion the parties will be referred to as they appeared in the trial court; that is, Nadine Dobson Garey, as complainant, and Don Quincy Garey, as defendant.
