The real estate involved in this action was situated in Morrison county, within the indemnity limits of the grant made by the United States-to the territory of Minnesota March 3, 1857 (11 St. 195), for the purpose of aiding the construction of certain railroads, and also within the indemnity limits of the grant made to the state- of Minnesota- for the same purpose by act of -congress March 3,- 1865 (13 St. 526, c. 105), as amended by-act of March 3, 1871 (16 St. 588,. c. 144).
