ABE, J.
This action was instituted by the plaintiffs, Noboru Matsumoto and Claire Matsumoto, to recover damages for injuries suffered by them in a collision involving two automobiles, one driven by plaintiff Noboru Matsumoto1 and *630the other by the defendant, at the intersection of Waialae Avenue and 1st Avenue in Honolulu.
It appears that the defendant driving on 1st Avenue at the intersection above mentioned attempted to cross Waia-lae Avenue, a through street, and the collision occurred in the lane next to the curbing on the opposite side of Waialae Avenue or farthest…
