Where the court directs a verdict on specific pleas, and the record so shows, the verdict, though worded as a general verdict, is not a general, undirected verdict, but is to be regarded as a verdict actually directed by the court, and a party who does not object to the form of the verdict is not precluded from excepting to the direction of a verdict.
