This is an appeal from a third party action against William D. Knight, Jr., an attorney, by the Manchester Insurance & Indemnity Company of St. Louis (hereinafter referred to as Manchester) for malpractice. In its third-party complaint Manchester alleged that Knight negligently handled the defense of a personal injury suit and a wrongful death suit against the estate of one Charles Toney, one of Manchester’s insureds.
