On October 11,1923, the Fort Worth Mutual Benevolent Association (a fraternal benefit society), with a division or subordinate branch at Amarillo, Tex., issued benefit certificate to Mrs. Mary Caroline Franklin, a member of that association. Her age, as stated in *265the certificate, was B9 years. The certificate provided that she should pay all assessments levied by the directors, as ordered, of $1.10 on the death of any member in the same class, within 10 days from date of the call therefor, and $4 annual dues, payable semiannually on May 1 and November 1 of each year.
