Nathaniel Canty (Defendant) appeals from his convictions of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed handgun. For the following reasons, we order a new trial.'

Defendant was indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed weapon on 16 May 2011.15 April *5152011, Corporals Bass and Pope of the Sampson County Sheriffs Office were stationed along 1-40 in Sampson County.
