Ingram, Justice.

The husband appeals from a final divorce decree entered on November 27, 1974, after a jury trial in the Superior Court of Lee County. The husband brought a complaint for divorce on the ground that the marriage was irretrievably broken and the wife filed an answer and counterclaim seeking a divorce on the ground of cruel treatment. The jury found for the wife on her counterclaim and awarded her the family home and furnishings. In addition, the wife was granted $500 a month alimony; $250 a month child support for each of the two minor children and an automobile. The husband…
