The plaintiffs filed suit against the defendants for personal injuries sustained as a result of the negligent operation of a vehicle owned by defendant Baker Delivery Services, Inc. (Baker), which was being operated by defendant Thomas Henderson within the scope of his employment by Baker. The complaints, as originally drawn, were in one count, seeking a joint and several judgment against both defendants for compensatory damages.
