INTRODUCTION

Defendant and appellant Carlton Mayham (defendant) was convicted of corporal injury to the mother of his child (Pen. Code, § 273.5, subd (a)).1 On appeal, defendant contends that the trial court violated his state and federal constitutional rights to due process, a fair trial, and effective assistance of counsel by excluding him from the courtroom without an “audio or video feed”2 allowing him to hear a trial witness’s testimony.
