Jim Hayes prosecutes error to a judgment of the circuit court of Greenbrier county sentencing him to confinement for eighteen years on a verdict of murder in the second degree committed upon Snowden Crane.

Snowden Crane, 69 years old, and a bachelor, who lived near Bellburn in the western portion of the county, was brutally murdered in his home on the night of November 24, 1927, and his body secreted on a high hillside about 1,000 feet away. His skull had been fractured in two places, a bullet had penetrated the base of his brain emerging below an eye, his wrists were bruised…
