Plaintiff brings this suit to recover compensation for the maximum amount recoverable under the statute for total and permanent disability. He had been in defendant’s employ for over ten years when he claims to have suffered the accident alleged upon for recovery. He was its local manager. His duties required him to perform many different kinds of labor, including the operation of ice-laden trucks and the doing of repair work to the ice plant in Rayville, La.
