At the conclusion of a seven-day trial, a Superior *507Court jury convicted the defendant, Melissa S. Caparella, of the offense of larceny of property of value greater than $250 from the Massachusetts Special Olympics corporation (MSO) in violation of G. L. c. 266, § 30; and of the offense of making false entries in MSO’s financial records with intent to defraud in violation of G. L. c. 266, § 67. Upon the conviction of larceny the trial judge sentenced the defendant to a term of two and one-half years in the house of correction.
