OPINION OF THE COURT UPON FURTHER REVIEW

JAMES, Judge:

This case presents the question of the effectiveness of the assistance of defense counsel in post-trial activities before the convening authority’s action. Appellant pleaded guilty to and was convicted of distributions and uses of cocaine. He was sentenced to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge, to be confined for 18 months, to forfeit all pay and allowances, and to be reduced to E-l.
